Leaving Japan. What do?

After a lot of thought, I've decided that this will be my last year in Japan. I'll leave in December, and I know some of the things I need to do, but others I'm unsure of. 1) Sending stuff home: what's the best (cheapest) way to do this? I'm going back to Europe. 2) Moving out of a Leopalace: what sort of fees will I incur doing this? Can I leave anything (bed, pots, cleaning supplies) behind? 3) TAXES. This is my biggest problem. Do I still need to pay residence tax? What happens if I don't? I could save a lot of money off of this. Also, do I need to bring proof of taxation home? 4) Cancelling my phone contract (Docomo), which will be up for renewal in September: how much will this cost? How can I pay my final bill? By then my phone will be paid for, too, so I assume they'll let me keep it, but will it be easy to unlock? (Sony Z3) Any other things I need to be aware of?
