Hi, darren here. My japanese friend birthday is coming in 2 weeks time i will be sending her a birthday present, however i am not very sure whether shower gel can pass through the custom in japan since it might be considered liquid. Why would it be a problem if it's in liquid form? The only problem would be if you were to take it with you in cabin baggage. If you check it in your suitcase, there shouldn't be a problem if it's in liquid form. Custom deals with import tariffs and not security of the aircraft.
