Reservation Machines at Midori no Madoguchi

I've used the machines to book seats on shinkansen before which was convenient for me but I was not using JR pass in those instances. I used my cc card. I'm wondering if I can make my own reservation using these machines with JR Pass instead of going to the person behind the counter? I don't remember if those machine are Japanese only or if it had English language capability.

No, you can't, but you do not pay the reservation fee (free) if you have a JR pass, so it saves you some yen.
