Buying Nintendo Switch in Tokyo 2017/3/21 22:50
Hi, I am staying at Shinjuku until 28/3/17. I am having holiday with my family, my kids are disappointed after we roamed the shops in shinjuku and found out the Nintendo Switch console sold out. Please let me know if there is place you know got Nintendo Switch available. Thanks

Really? I'm arriving to Tokyo this Saturday and I was hoping to get one. Did you try on the stores on Akihabara district? Is full of gaming stores. Specially the huge Yodobashi Camera.

By the way, if you have any luck, please post where did you get it!

Hugs!

Today, still "no stock" tweet a lot by Japanese who went to real stores in urban cities.

Now, soon New School season start fr Apr,
so "a big present" needs for teens a lot like Christmas.

But some large famous electric stores seems reservations are accepted irregularly.

I have heard there are issues with the first-generation Switch and it may not be a good idea to buy one in Japan, if you do happen to come across one, because if they are defective, it may be difficult for you to return to Japan to exchange it.

I have heard the screen can get scratched by the docking port, there are fatal errors in the hardware and other major issues that may be best left alone until a second-generation Switch comes out.

I've arrived in Japan on the 16th and haven't found the console yet. It's sold out everywhere in Tokyo! There's none in Akiba, only games, controllers and cases available at Yodobashi Camera. My next stop is Kyoto, hope I can find one there.

I've had no luck with Yamashiroya in Tokyo over the past couple days. Only a few more days left in Japan and things don't seem promising to me

I also just checked again at Akihabara and none of the stores here have one either. Looks like Sofmap are doing a lottery to buy one, which is fair but not very helpful when I'm leaving in a few days 😢
