I'm planning to spend 2 nights at Kinosaki onsen, now looking for a nice and convenient roykan to stay, any suggestion?
Also, any chance that seeing the sea of clouds from Mt Kurushi high from mid-October 17?

The town itself is pretty small. From the train station (which is at one end of the town) to the furthest public bathhouse is a walk of around 20 minutes at a v-e-r-y slow pace.
Shuttle buses are available at the train station to take you and your bags to most (if not all - you may need to check this?) of the hotels.
I would have a look at prices and availability, and make your decision based on that. Anywhere in the town itself will be well-enough located.
