Individually gift wrapped white strawberries 2017/9/26 23:46
December is the time I will visit Japan, and it's also the season for strawberries, although they are available in my country Hong Kong in packs of about 15 pieces, I do prefer to get those special and rare ones from Japan that are individually wrapped from places like seibu etc.

Do you know if it's alright to take them out of Japan, since it will be given out out souvenir.

Taking them out of a Japan shouldn't be a problem. Bringing them into HK can be. You should check your local import rules.

Thanks for the reply, I don't think Hong Kong is a problem, visited Japan 3 times, and all returns arrives in Hong Kong around 4-5am, not once have I been checked by the customs, Hong kong isn't strict about arrivel early in the morning, especially from Japan.

Also I would like to know the best place to buy these strawberries in Tokyo area, i'm expecting it to cost about 1000yen to 2000yen for each piece, so the cost isn't a problem.

There is no custom check in JP when you bring back to HK.
And also, I think there is no custom check in HK as you bring strawberries.

The best place to buy strawberries on your budget is possibly large department stores(Takashimaya, Isetan, Tokyu etc) grocery dept.
If you buy 4 packs, they will fit in the cardboard. It won't get damage until you will back in HK.

Thanks, i'm after these, even if they do cost more. and yes the larger department store like suibu and Isetan is probably the only place I can think of.

I saw them in the duty free shop at Narita terminal 3 yesterday.

And somewhere else, I think it was the fancy cake shops underneath Tokyo Station.

Thank, I prefer to get it in the city, i don't want to wait till the last day to get it, and there is probably no chance to go to terminal 3. I will be leaving from international terminal, not sure if they are close.

"Shinjuku Takano" fruits parlor and "Sembiki-ya"(Isetan and Takashimaya) are both luxury fruit stores.

The others include "Kinokuni-ya"(Takashimaya Shinjuku) and "Fresh Market"(Isetan Shinjuku) both have luxury fruits.

Terminal 3 is an international terminal. As is also T2. I would assume though that T1, T2 and T3 would have similar duty free shops.

But yes I wouldn't leave it until last minute either. Finding a shop in the city would be a safer and smarter process as you said.
