Kamikochi + Shin Hotaka 1 day?

Greetings.
I have been looking into Kamikochi and the "nearby" Shin-Hotaka ropeway.
Is it possible to do this both as a one day trip from Takayama?
Is there any recommended one-day pass for the buses or something? Seemed rather costly.
