Can anyone help me unlock my Vodafone802SE I purchase in Japan so i can use my Philippine SIM Card? Thanks.

Unlike GSM phones Japanese mobiles have no SIM Cards, I think.

In Japan buy unlock service in Yahoo Auction.

In Philippines ask any phone shop that does "open line" for you.

I'm going japan in 1 wks time, and I was looking into buying it. Is it true that I can buy it with my credit card and I do not have to provide any japan home address etc etc?

It depends which shop you buy the phone from. It can be free-8000yen max. (approx.80dollars) And there are some places you can do a month to month service with or without your credit card. The other option is to pay over the counter. If you do sign up for a 1 year contract you have to pay a cancellation fee of about 30 dollars. For a two year contract the phone itself would be cheaper but you have to pay a cancellation fee of about 100 dollars.

yes, in japan you can purchase a phone on a contract with your credit card and, as i remember it, it costs 1500 yen to set up, costs 5300 yen a month and then 1500 yen to break contract under 1 year, its toally cool, they even let you keep the phone. they say that you cant break contract under 6 months, but thats just so they make profit, they let you break it. enjoy japan!

just to let you know, a cell phone store in Hawaii advertises that they sell unlocked phones, including a bunch of Sony phones, as well as 2 Sharp phones. maybe you can contact the store and they can unlock it for you?
