Choice between UCB (Berkeley) and UTokyo? 2017/10/28 22:07
I have an offer of UCB (Berkeley) for graduate studies in economics and an offer of Tokyo University
for the UTIPE program (taught in English). So far I don't spreak Japanese, but German, English and Spanish; willing to learn Japanese.
Which program is reasonable to choose as to a building a career in multinational companies. I would probably like to work in Germany or Japan after graduation/PhD.
Do the programs differ substantially with regard to teaching, research and specialisation (I am especially interested in computational economics apart from the 'usual' approach of DSGE modelling)?
I would be especially thankful for anyone who has information about the UTIPE program and shares his impression/thoughts/insights.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Josef

generally speaking, academics in liberal arts fields (including economical fields) of Japanese universities are not good.
especially, graduated schools of those fields are useless.
take UC Berkeley.
