Fyi,
Me & my family will visiting Osaka on February 2018. We will be staying in one place only which is near at namba station.
Our itinerary as below :-
day 1 - Kix to Shiga (biwako valley)
day 2 - namba to kyoto
day 3 - namba to nara park, osaka castle
day 4 - namba to universal studio
day 5 - namba to kix

Kansai Area Pass but you only really need it for your arrival day and Nara day. All other days are cheap days. So maybe put those days together so the 2/3/4 day versions will work for you.
