Iriomote daytrip possible?

Hi,
I plan to visit Ishigaki island on a 3-4 day visit from Tokyo. Reading on the Iriomote island, it seems most things to see are the river cruises and the beaches, unless you like hiking a lot.
Is it possible or perhaps not recommended to visit Iriomote as a daytrip?

Among all the islands you can go to from Ishigaki, Iriomote is the one island where I recommend staying longer than just a few hours. It's a bigger island and there's more to do, but if you're short on time, then of cours a daytrip is possible. Kanu, snorkeling, searching for the Iriomote cat .... those are the main things to do there. Beautiful nature there!!!!!
