Kobe beef restaurant recommendation

Greetings,
Our family are planning to take a day trip from Kyoto to visit Himeji castle and stop by Kobe on the way back to enjoy the world famous Kobe beef. Any recommendations for a good kobe beef restaurant that is near the Shin-Kobe station or near the harbor? Is reservation required? We are looking for a restaurant that is kids friendly because we are travelling with a 3 year old and a 1 year old. The expected travel date is Friday March 30 this year.
