Tattoos on Okinawa Beaches

My hubsand and I are planning a trip to Okinawa and looking at several hotels with pools, some on the beach. We definitely want to spend a lot of time at the beach.
He has flowers and script tattooed on his arms and chest, and one on his calf. I understand he likely won't be allowed in the hotel pool, but can we use the beach? We're two white Canadians, they're non-threatening looking. We will also be discreet. Has anyone had experience with this?
We don't want to go if he's going to be kicked off the beach. Thanks!

Don't you worry, no one is going to bother him.

I agree with the other poster. I also notice that many if not most beaches throughout Japan allow tattooers to wear shirts in/out the sea. Additionally, there are many beaches in Okinawa (especially in islands such as Miyako) where you will hardly see any other people around. Hope you both have fun!
