Golden Week Recommendations

Hello! I live in Kyushu and my parents are coming to visit me for Golden Week. Since we've already seen a lot of the "famous" spots like Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, etc., we wanted to try something different! We're debating between some options (in no particular order)
1) Kyushu trip by car (Start in Saga Prefecture and travel to some interesting spots like Beppu, Kumamoto, Yufuin, Kirishima, etc)
2) Okinawa
3) Hokkaido
4) Honshu (I'm generally interested in seeing Kanazawa, Nagano, Himeji)
5) Any other good spring destination that you'd recommend??
Given the time of year, do you have any recommendations or suggestions? I really appreciate it!
