Changing Student Visa to Working Holiday Visa

Hello,
I am currently a student at a language school so I am on a Student Visa in Japan and I am from Canada, I was wondering if there is anyway to apply for the Working Holiday Visa while I am in Japan?

Check the website of the Japanese embassy in Canada. But usually, you need to apply for a WHV while in your home country.

I believe there are some conditions for application for WHV in addition to your age, such as you need to have been living in your home country for a certain length of time (several months I think) before you can apply. WHV is such a special arrangement that they do not want people who can otherwise stay without WHV to enjoy the benefits, or want people to hop from a WHV stay in one country to another. Please check the embassy website for details.
