Japan Android apps 2018/2/28 22:06
Hi,
I have been collecting some possibly essential apps for my Japan trip using my Android phone.

- Yomiwa
- Yahoo Map
- JR East App
- JR West App
- Japan Free Wi-Fi
- Travel Japan Wi-Fi
- Tokyo Subway (transfer app)
- Google Translate (offline translation)
- Tabimori
- Kyoto Bus Checker
- Google IME Keyboard
- Maps.me (offline maps)
- Jsho (dictionary app)
- Japan Trains
- JMA Tenki (weather app, japanese)
- Japan Travel app
- Bus Navi
- Yahoo transport app

Maybe they are too much and need to be cleaned out, or did I miss out something?

Thanks in advance!

I doubt that you need the Google IME keyboard, I find Google Maps more useful than the train planner apps.
The following apps have proven to be useful to me during previous visits:
- Earthquake Monitor Ex
- MAPinr for offline maps including Japan pre-loaded with the KMZ of places I want to visit (constructed in Google maps prior to departure)

You already have these listed:
- Jisho
- Google Translate to get instant translations TTL or from photos (offline)

Oh, and Weatherbug has shown itself to be pretty accurate with a lot of details about local weather anywhere

If you understand Japanese, you can create and switch to a Japanese Google store account, then get access to tons of Japanese apps the Japanese use in country.

Otherwise, you'd have to see if apkfree etc.sites have such apps for sideloading.
