I am a women and I was called ''shibui'' by my friends. I know the word and I know what it means when you describe a men, but what if they are used for women? Can someone explain it to me? Thank you!

It has the same meaning for women as men. It means something like having a subdued/subtle/mature taste or nature. Take it as a compliment.
