I was thinking of going up mount takao next week.
What is the trail like as I donft have walking boots with me just trainers ? Is it possible, as I would rather walk than take the cable car.

There are maybe six different trails up Mount Takao. The easiest route is pretty much paved the whole way, and it's like walking on a roadway that's going uphill. The hardest route is quite a bit more difficult, with some dangerous spots even (I believe there have been hiking fatalities in the recent past), but trainers should be fine even there. (Or at least that's what I wore, and I had no problems.)
