Is Yoshino Mountain worth it? 2018/3/27 00:00
Hi,
Is it worth doing a two-or-three days trip from Tokyo in order to visit Yoshino Mountain?
It looks like an amazing experience but I can't decide if its worth the trip.

Thanks

It is if you love cherry blossoms and you go at the right time.

You could do it in a whole day and overnight though. You don't need 3 days.

The highlight of Yoshinoyma could come in a few days in this season. The Shimosenbon and Nakasenbon areas have already been full bloom. The Kamisenbon area is now nearly full bloom, 70%. These three areas make the whole mountain full of cherry blossoms. The remaining Okusenbon area will be full bloom around Apr 11. Currently, the official site expects Apr 10, while WeatherNews Apr 12.

On Apr 11, from Tokyo, you could get to Yoshino at around 10:30. And, you may stay there until around 19:30 or 21:30 on the same day if you admit a sleeper train.
