Canoe down Kushiro marshland river

Hi there,
I read the article by Raina Ong on this website not too long ago about Kushiro.
I am particularly interested in the canoe down the river part. Does anyone know where I can find a good deal for canoeing?
I have done a quick research and it appears they charge quite hefty. I supposed because I was searching it in English. Perhaps search in Japanese or other languages may find some cheaper options...?
Anyway look forward to hear about some of your experience(s).
