I may need to ship a small packet about 500gm, the item cost about 12000 yen, what will be the best option for a delivery service from the list below, or other suggestion.
The Package will be shipped from Osaka to Tokyo, cost should be reasonable and anything from 1-5 days is ok.
Japan Post EMS DHL UPS other courier service

Japan Post or Yamato or Sagawa, whatever works for you, they are basically the same.
EMS is an international shipping service offered by Japan Post; it can't be used to ship domestically.

Choose whatever company, but choose an option with insurance and tracking. Some companies have it while others don't.

Just so that you'd know, a lot of central offices (chuo-kyoku) of Japan Post are open until late at night, some 24/7.

I think I will have to check the japan post office out, I have check those courier service, but not knowing Japanese seems complicated, and it does seem like 7-11 and familymart along with others, serve as a agent, but not knowing Japanese it's very hard to communicate.
Can these TA-Q-BIN Compact Box be purchased at 7-11 as they serve as a agent.

Just search for post offices in Google Maps, in the details panel for each post office you have a link to a page such as this one https://map.japanpost.jp/p/search/dtl/300181001000/郵便窓口 is the regular postal service counters, and some (usually big) post offices have a ゆうゆう窓口, which is a sort of "after hours" counter offering basic postal services, which should be enough for you.

Thanks for the information, 大阪南郵便局 seems to be the best option, closest to where i'm staying near Dobutsuen-Mae Station and Osaka Station.

You probably won't have access to make local phone calls even though you're sending something within Japan? Okay. I just thought you can use a hotel phone or pay phone to ask what the suitable options are, then all you have to do will be to say the name of that option at the actual counter. Anyway, I hope everything goes well.
