I'm moving to Nara to study at their women's univeristy in October for an academic year.
I speak very little Japanese and would prefer not to travel to the Osaka or Kyoto prefectures.
Are there any gyms in Nara? Do any allow people on a student visa who are non Japanese speakers to join (I can get help form a student mentor with the signup process). And what sort of gyms are they?
I also have a similar question about adult gymnastics but this is far more unlikely I fear.

Most of your questions are easily answered by Google. Also on the home page of your university you can find the sport clubs they have (great way to get to know locals) and it would even seem that there is a gym right there on the campus.
