Shakai Kenko Hoken for irregular workers 2018/9/11 15:23
Hi folks,
Been in Japan for a while and I've always been on Kokumin Kenko Hoken since I worked through various dispatch agencies.
From April, I got a direct hire job from a council and they put me on Shakai Kenko Hoken
It's full time during term time, but some months I don't work much, i.e. 15 days in Dec, 3 days in Aug.
but the Shakai Kenko Hoken is set - around 40,000 each month. It's a bit much.
Isn't it supposed to be a percentage, similar to income tax?
Is there some sort of hours/days level set per year to be eligible for it?
Should I have stayed on Kokumin Kenko Hoken?
cheers
