Does anyone have experience with buying Japanese Makeup brushes whilst in Japan?
I am in Kyoto this week then traveling to Hiroshima and Kyushu.

Any brands/shops/workshops I should check out? Thank you!

The Kumanofude (Kumano brush) is probably the most popular makeup brush in Japan today. Coincidentally, it has been traditionally made in Hiroshima Prefecture, in the town of Kumano. Their brushes

Their brushes are available throughout Japan, but a convenient shop for you may be the one in ASSE mall 5th floor, which building is as same as Hiroshima Station.

Their factory and museum in Kumano-cho also sells makeup brushes.

My wife swears by Hakuhodo brushes. Their flagship store is in Kyoto, on Teramachi. They're professional make-up brushes, so they might be quite pricey. They have all sorts of hair - cat, goat, weasel, squirrel etc.
