Does Japan have some sort of retirement visa?

Hi there, can you just retire in Japan when you have like a couple thousand dollars? Is it even a possibility? Because it's a huge thing in Mexico, where thousands and thousands of American retirees go to Mexico to enjoy the lifestyle down south and retire and live that quiet life. Could it be done in Japan as an US individual?

Born in 1996 and already asking about retirement visa. You sound like a very troubled person with those strange questions. Please stop trolling this board.

No. Not a chance. Not even if you had millions. Japan is not a retirement destination. OP - drop your 12 month plan, visit for three months as a tourist and then go home. Your questions are getting silly.
