Sannai Maruyama Archaeological Site 2018/10/1 00:53
Does anyone know how long it takes visiting Sannai Maruyama Archaeological Site? Only the open-air site, not the Aomori museum of art.
Thank you.

Besides the bus ride, it depends on how interested you are in Jomon dwellings. It's not nearly as large as Yoshinogari-koen in Saga-ken, has fewer reconstructions, and doesn't take as much time. Their website has some suggested routes from 30 minutes to 3 hours:

From Aomori train station the bus times are sometimes pretty inconvenient - last time I took a taxi (more practical).
There are two parts - the indoor museum piece and the outdoor area. I probably split my time 50/50 and took around 90 minutes for both. It helped it was a nice sunny day.
Across the whole afternoon, including getting to/from, the Sannai site and the art museum we spent around three and a half hours.
