Niigata ferry terminal - luggage storage

Hi.
We will arriving from Sado island on the ferry at 1230pm and would like to keep our suitcases for a few hours only at Niigata port.
We would like to visit the area around the port (e.g. Toki Messe, Pia Bandai etc.) upon arrival into Niigata.
And then collect our bags and head to our hotel near JR Niigata station.
Does anyone know if there is an office or a place at the ferry terminal where we can store our luggage for a few hours ?
I was told the lockers there are small and will not fit out suitcases.
