Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Miyazaki restaurants 2018/10/6 18:36
Does anyone have any recommendations for yakitori in Fukuoka City, tonkotsu (stew) in Kagoshima City, or Miyazaki chicken in Miyazki City?

Tonkotsu is a popular dish in Kagoshima and the taste is rather identical among restaurants. There is some kind of sweetness and saltiness and many people including foreigners will like it.

Three restaurants come to my mind: Kumaso-tei, Satsuma-ji and Wakana. The pages below show how they cook tonkotsu which may be interesting.

Perhaps I have eaten all of them but I don't remember which is the best (but I like all of them).

Miyazaki beef is nice too; there's a restaurant serving it inside Miyazaki station.

Frog1954, thanks for those tonkotsu articles! I ate tonkotsu many years ago in Kagoshima, and even though I've had it several times since then in Tokyo, the Tokyo versions have never been as good.

(Also I will try to check out Miyazaki beef.)
