I am a Filipina who was married a Japanese man for five years, we were married in the Philippine. We are now divorced and I do have my divorce papers that were processed in Japan because there is no divorce in the Philippines. My question is am I able to legally remarry in Japan to Canadian? I do have my permanent visa in Japan. What steps do I need take?

you have to make your divorce active both in Japan and Philippine.
to get married in Japan, you have to get a certificate that you are a single, from Philippine government.
