Hakone to Matsumoto: fastest way by JR train?

This queation was already put but it was on 2012 and I am not sure the reply there is still relevant.
We plan to go from Hakone (Hakone Yumoto) to Matsumoto on this October. What will be the best (fastest) way by JR trains?

You need to take a non-JR train from Hakone-Yumoto to Odawara, then Hyperdia is your friend.

There isnt any good direct route. To Tokyo using shinkansen, then ltd exp to Matsumoto is the fastest.

The fastest is by Tokaido Shinkansen, Hokuriku Shinkansen and limited express train via Tokyo and Nagano, but it is also by far the most expensive.
Another fast way is: Odawara - (Tokaido Shinkansen) - Shin-Yokohama - (JR Yokohama Line) - Hachioji - (limited express) - Matsumoto

Hakone is simply a long way by train from Matsumoto.
Why not go somewhere nicer than Hakone and make your travel easier?
