Travel from Aso to Takachiho affected

Hi,
I need to know how to access Takachiho gorge from Aso. Based on guides the trains on JR Hohi Line and Minamiaso Railway are closed, so I cannot get to Takamori chuo to take the bus.
I will be staying somewhere relatively near Aso station. I do not have a driving license.
Please advise for travel this Nov-Dec 2018 . Thank you!

Alternatively, especially if you have a JR Pass and enough time, you can go to Nobeoka by train and take a bus from there.
