Visa renewal and new job?

Hi everyone ,
I am currently working in Nara prefecture and my visa needs renewing in January
I am currently on the look out for a new job in MARCH/APRIL 2019 ONWARD (as the school i am currently working at is hmm MEH not great)
But, i am a little confused, if i applied for a new job now and got that position (ie, to start in april 2019) would i use those future employers to sponsor my visa renewal in January OR would i have to use my current employers ?

You would have to notify immigration about your change in employmeny within 2 weeks after quitting your old start and within 2 weeks after starting your new job. I assume your new job falls into the same visa type. Otherwise, you would have to apply for a change of visa type.
