Renew Re-entry visa

Ifm a permanent resident of Japan but i live in Canada my re-entry will expire in May 2019 but i have to travel Japan in few days so i was wondering if i can renew my re-entry now if it is possible then traveling again in May 2019. How many months in advance we can renew reentry of Japan?

You can apply for a new re-entry permit at any time; if the new re-entry permit is granted they will just revoke the old one.

yes you can renew it.. just tell them you cant visit japan next ... because of your job. or ...... they will renew it .
if they refuse at the airport .. go to immigration office .
