Western-style statues in Kanazawa, Ishikawa 2018/10/22 17:50
The statues were of a young woman, and we found them in several locations around Kanazawa city.
We would like to know the sculptor as there were no English signs below the statues.

According to this report (in Japanese, PDF file, http://judi-hokuriku.gr.jp/excel/20080731houkoku-Final.pdf ) Kanazawa is striving to be the city of art. It started installing sculptures in public spaces around 1993, mostly in parks and streets leading from Kanazawa station to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, which opened in 2004.

Interestingly, above referenced report, which is 93 pages long, includes public reactions to these art pieces. At the time of the report dated 2006, 32 pieces of art were reviewed. The photo you referenced was not included in these 32, and I do not know if it is a newer installation or not part of the public art project. The report includes the titles and names of the artists, and some background information.

Thank you A5,..

A very informative answer.
One of the sculptures I was referring to is found in the report no 13 on page 10.
As I am unable to read kanji, could you please let me know the artist who created the sculpture?
