Can you switch a student visa to working?

hi just one question is it posable to go and study in japan under a student visa then later switch to a working visa? if anyone has done this or knows anything please respond.

It is possible if you meet the requirements for work visa (there is no "general work visa" but there are many different kinds for specific types of jobs) and if you find an employer who is willing to sponsor you for a work visa.
