Hiking Kurama to Kibune at the moment

Hey all,
this might be a bit of a weird question. I was planning on hiking from Kurama to Kibune, but because of typhoon damage the trail is closed. A friend of mine told me today that he did a hike once on trail that was closed officially and it was alright. Has anybody done the hike from Kurama to Kibune since it was been closed by any chance? I don't know if it would even be possible since one side of trail starts/finishes at a temple where you have to pay an entrance fee? Sorry if this seems really stupid, I've just been looking forward to that hike so much and somehow overlooked the message on this site where it said that the trail is closed. Thanks in advance for any pointers.
