How will I know I got visa?

I received a phone call from Japan embassy today that my passport and documents is ready for collection. Please does it mean I have been given Visa??
I'm going for business trip.

Why didn't you ask them while you had them on the phone? You'll find out when you pick up your documents.

I really do not understand you have not asked when they called you.

The best thing to do in this situation is to call them back. Just give them your number and tell them that you are unsure of whether or not you will get the VISA. There are so many different policies depending on the embassy that this is the only solution. Furthermore, such result is not published online.
