Hi,
What do you think about the below itinerary?
2 March - Kanazawa overnight
3 March - Kanazawa overnight
4 March - Shirakawago overnight
5 March - Takayama overnight
6 March - Tokyo overnight
7 March - Tokyo overnight
8 March - Tokyo overnight
9 March - Back Malaysia

It looks good, but I wouldnt bother with Shirakawa-go overnight unless you arrive there pretty late, as there isnt a lot to do there. If you were leaving Kanazawa in the morning, I'd go Kanazawa - Shirakawa-go (stay for 3 - 4 hours) - Takayama, then have another night somewhere between Takayama and Tokyo.
Personally I could stay more than one night at Takayama (in fact all up I've probably stayed there nearly 2 weeks over the years) but many people arent as attracted to it as I am and think of it as an overnight prospect. For places between Takayama and tokyo, you could try Karuizawa (about 3 hours, nice town) or maybe Atami or Odawara/Hakone.
