Travelling to Japan during Golden Week 2018

I have a three week vacation at the end of April and would like to visit japan but i'm also hesitant as GW will last 10 days this year and I don't have any hotel reservations yet.
Is it best for me to just find another vacation time?

GW is no reason to avoid Japan. True, trains and hotels will be busy, but not out-of-control busy. Reserve now. I traveled during GW 2017 & 2016 and did not have any issue by staying put (i.e., no long distance moves) during the start and the end of GW, when most people are expected to travel.

keep in mind this year GW is longer than usually in Japan.
So people are staying longer and traveling more.
