Luggage deposit in Gero onsen?

Hello,
I plan to visit Gero onsen during my next trip.
My plan is:
I arrive in Gero onsen in the morning(~10am) from Takayama.
Store my lugages somewhere...
Visit the city before heading to my hotel (at the other side of the city) for 1 night.
Then the next day i leave Gero onsen in the morning(~10am) to Nagoya.
I believe Gero onsen has coin lockers but from what i have seen on internet images, it does not seems to have much lockers and i am not sure if they even have Medium size lockers, plus i am pretty sure they will be all taken when i arrive.
My question: is there any other way to store my luggage for 1 night in Gero onsen?

Is dropping your luggage off at your hotel not a possibility? I think that Gero onsen isnft that big of a town.
