Time table from Shin Osaka to Shin Hakodate 2019/1/31 02:45
I am planning to travel from Shin Osaka to Shin Hakodate on April 11th by using JR pass. I wish to start my journey by 8 am and plan to reach Shin Hakodate by 5pm on the same day. I have searched hyperdia.com and could not find suitable trains. I appreciate if you can help me to find out the trains on April 11th.

Hi!

If you were using Hyperdia, you have to break the trip up into two trips to get the correct information. As a rail pass holder you can't use Nozomi but you can use Hayabusa.

So in this case, if you take an 8:16 Hikari from Shin-Osaka to Tokyo which gets in a little after 11:10. The first Hayabusa you can take is at 12:20 and you will get to Shin-Hakodate at 16:34.

I hope this helps!

Have you considered flying? If you fly do you still need the JR pass?

This is one of the flaw of hyperdia: If you uncheck NOZOMI / MIZUHO /HAYABUSA (SHINKANSEN) option, you can't go north to Hakodate.

Jorudan has better option for the Japan Rail Pass holders.

Though I usually use Hyperdia since I am used to it, Jorudan sometimes returns better answers.
