Omishima to Hiroshima

Hi all. I am thinking of doing some cycling along the Shimanami kaido. I plan to end up on Omishima and will then need to get from there to Hiroshima. Looking online and at maps, it seems that I may have to retrace my journey back to Onomichi and then take the train from there but there may be an easier/better route that I'm missing.
Any ideas?

Yes, I think you need to go back to Onomichi and catch a train from there. You can either cycle back or take a bus (there is info on the web about bus / cycle transport).
