Tsukuba Express Convenience 2019/2/10 14:53
Planning to book a hotel near TX Asakusa Station. Most of the time we will be using it till Akihabara to connect to other lines ( Yamanote, Chuo, Sobu etc)

I have 4 seniors with me. Is it convenient to use the TX line in terms of facilities say at Asakusa. are there elevators from ground to ticket gate?

Lastly at TX Akihabara, I saw some videos and OH MY the platform from ground is very deep. I can imagine the seniors would be very tired already from ground level to platform or vice versa. then say from TX platform transferring to JR lines at Akihabara

(taxi is not an option)

My second option, is to get the Hotel 3000 at Akihabara. Though far from JR Akihabara but walking in flat ground only.

Any opinions please

There are lifts/elevators. But like all stations, they are hard to find and sometime out of the way.

Personally Akihabara isn't a good choice for transfering with old people. The platforms are all dump on top of each other and the staircases are narrow. And everyone is moving at a super fast pace.

I'd find another location to transfer.

Transfer at Akiba isn't hard - I don't recall ever using stairs.

If it makes things any more convenient, remember that Tawaramachi station on the Ginza line is only about a 3-4 minute walk from the Tsukuba Asakusa station. The Ginza line makes for easy transfers to JR lines at Ueno. Also, Suehirocho station on the Ginza line is at the north end of Akihabara. Depending on your destination in Akihabara, that may be as shorter walk.

This is Akihabara station map.
http://www.ecomo-rakuraku.jp/stationmap/22492.html
エレベーター(elevator) : elevator/lift
エスカレーター(escalator):escalator
階段(kaidan) : stair/stairway
トイレ(toire) : toilet/rest room

TX(tii-ekkusu) is Tsukuba Express's nick. (one of Rail companies in Tokyo and around)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsukuba_Express
Some their stations placed underground in mid Tokyo mainly,
but their section is not belonging with Subway(地下鉄:Chikatetsu in Japanese) company.
In Tokyo, subway company is only two, Toei and (Tokyo) Metro, Hibiya line is one of Metro.

TX Akihabara is end station, their track no connected to other rail companies tracks.

This is no using elevators from ground(1F) to B4F platform.

yeah although asakusa area is also great but akihabara area is somewhat a major stn where you can take a number of train lines with fewer transfers
