Divorced certificated in Japan

Aloha,
Please can anyone have experience to get Divorced certificated without knowing divorced date and city hall in Japan?
We got married on 1997 and separated from 2000 until now, I tried to get my divorced certificated but kinda waste time to call to check in each city hall.I did try but they cant let me have any information even they cant say yes or no.
Is anyone has the same issue? Please please give me some advice

What do you mean by separated? Separated as in living in different address/country or officially filed a divorce? Based on your post "without knowing divorced date and city hall in Japan?", can I assume that both of you didn't officially divorce.
