Roadkill in areas other than Hokkaido? 2019/3/15 19:48
In Australia I've seen possums in residential streets (in an inner suburb) and counted 400 animals at night on a 150km stretch. We're meant to be the roadkill capital of the world and even have dusk to dawn advisory limits (not mandatory but your insurance may not cover you if you do hit something huge). I'm guessing it's basically just rural areas?

Possums supposedly inhabit suburbs more than they do bushland, but I never saw any animals climbing roofs when living in Nishitokyo.

There are occasional ones, especially in the early mornings in rural areas. But certainly nowhere close to what you describe. In urban areas I see about two per year. The typical victims are tanuki, hakubishin and cats.

Roadkill gets collected quickly - where else do you think the protein in your curry comes from? :)
