13d1wn self drive itinerary with 2 young kids 2019/3/24 20:43
Hello! Am planning a 13D12N itinerary with the wife and 2 young kids (5 & 2 yrs old) to hokkaido in mid June. Should be driving for most of the trip apart from the sapporo part.

Have been to other parts of Japan several times but first time driving and with both kids.

Any views on whether our planned itinerary is workable? Also having a hard time filling in day 8, and wondering if the day 7 Daisetsuzan plan is feasible with young kids.

Day 1 am: Arrive at New Chitose Airport at 8.30am.Collect rental car and drive to Noboribetsu. Stay 1 night at Noboribetsu.

Day 2: check out from Noboribetsu. Drive to Lake Toya to see sights followed by drive to Hakodate. Stay at Haokodate for 2 nights.

Day 3: Hakodate. Stay 2nd night at Hakodate.

Day 4: check out from Hakodate. Drive to Onuma National Park. Then drive to Cape Kamui for sight seeing on route to Otaru. Stay at Otaru.

Day 5: Otaru sights. Stay at Otaru.

Day 6: check out from otaru. Drive to Furano/Biei to view sights. Then drive to Asahikawa. Stay at Asahikawa.

Day 7: Drive to Daisetsuzan. Stay at Ashahidake Onsen area.

Day 8: Drive back to sapporo. Return car.

Day 9: Sapporo (outlet mall shopping)

Day 10: Sapporo other sights

Day 11: Sapporo other sights

Day 12: Sapporo. Leave for and stay at New Chitose Airport hotel in the evening so no need to rush for morning flight on day 13.

Day 13: 1030am flight back to SG.

Thank you very much in advance for the advice!
