do people in japan have issues with body acne in onsen? as i will be completely bake you can see the acne scars on my back. Itfs basically all scarring at this point but it covers a lot of my back. Would itfs still be okay to go to an onsen or should I forget the whole idea? I wouldnft want to ruin the experience for others.

I have seen people with all types of scares in onsen. Thatfs just the body you have. Onsen is not reserved for the beautiful:-) As long as it is not an open wound there shouldnft be a problem.
Enjoy the soak!

Scars and body marks are reasonably common in Japan so you should be fine.

Some of the sumo players have considerable acne scars both on face and back. They certainly don't cover up. Harumafuji is one who I can recall.

No, you would be fine!
Many Onsen advertise with their good quality water, especially if you have skin problems or other healty issues.
So enjoy this experience and have fun!
