Tateyama Kurobe alpine kippu 2019/3/26 15:40
I plan to travel from Osaka to Kurobe Gorge, Tateyama Kurobe alplibe route, Matsumoto, Kiso Valley, Nagoya, and back to Osaka between May 21 to 28, 2019. Thought of getting Tateyama Kurobe alpine kippu, is this discounted ticket still on sales for 2019?

I think the OP wants to know about the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine ticket.

https://www.nagoya-info.jp/en/tickets/files/alpine_route.pdf

Though this seasonal ticket is for 2015, they also provide it for 2019 season.

https://railway.jr-central.co.jp/tickets/otoku_tateyamakurobe/

This is in Japanese but the contents are identical to the above PDF in English.

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine ticket has no restriction for the nationality/VISA status. Japanese locals can buy it (I bought in 2017 season).

There is another ticket for foreign tourists.

I didn't even think of that ticket. As OP is coming from Osaka. But it could work.

OP needs to do some cost comparisons. A cheaper loop ticket that starts and finished in Nagoya. Still requiring travel to and from Osaka.

Which to me, Osaka to Toyama via Nagoya isn't appealing time wise. Especially if Takayama isn't in the itinerary to visit. But OP might be happy to go the long way around if they have time?

Sorry, the ticket I posted is one version of the ticket which starts/ends at Nagoya. But there are other types of the ticket which starts from Kansai region (I bought one that starts/ends at Kyoto).

If you want to start at Osaka, and take Toyama Alpine Route Omachi Matsumoto Nagoya Osaka route (you can't get off at Nagoya), the price is 26880 yen including unlimited rides in the Alpine Route (you can travel back and forth unlimitedly). The validity period is consecutive 8 calendar days.
