I am planning to visit Japan and meet musicians to perform and socialise. I would appreciate receiving info so that I may plan accordingly. I will also need to find a cello .

Just making you aware that unfortunately a vague question on a mainly Japan tourist/living forum makes it difficult to help - specifically for such a specialized request.....
Hopefully this bump might inspire some other people in Japan with specific knowledge. My suggestion would be to look for specific professional organizations which might have an English website etc....
