Kyoto Sakura after tonightfs heavy rain 2019/4/7 14:41
I plan to do a day trip to Kyoto tomorrow Cos I heard Sakura just peaked yesterday. However therefs heavy rain forecasted tonight. Do you think it will affect the flowers severely? Esp when it has peaked for 2 days already. Ifve seen slightly past peak Sakura in Kyoto before so this time Ifm kinda hoping for something better. Thanks.

The rain may not be that heavy, and the duration also seems to be relatively short. I don't think that the rain will cause any considerable damage because the blossoms are usually still quite sturdy in the first 3-4 days after reaching full bloom.

Wind does more damage to the blossom IME.

I could see it is the full blooming of sakura this morning in Kyoto.
At this evening you might watch a storm of falling cherry blossoms.
It is very tasteful scenery.
